FAQs
Recycling beverage containers helps us preserve and maintain a sustainable environment for ourselves, our children and our future generations by reducing the effect of waste and non-biodegradable products.
Kids can definitely recycle too! Put them in charge of making sure recyclables end up in the curbside bin or indulge them in sorting the bottles and cans with you.
Generally, no. Contact the nearest Depot to determine its requirements.
When recycling, we suggest you to empty and rinse the bottles and put the caps back on them.
It would be in your best interest to have your container load pre-sorted as it will save your time spent at the Depot.
The container recycling fees vary by the size of the container and the material it’s made from. The fees cover the costs associated with recovering and processing the used beverage containers.

Tips & Tricks
- Ensure your containers are empty
- Give the containers a quick rinse, especially milk containers
- Flatten milk containers and jugs but do not crush other containers like cans and plastic bottles
- You can pre-sort and count containers. Depots will gladly do it for you. but if you separate containers by size (0-1L and over 1L) and type (i.e. glass, metal, plastic, juice boxes) before you head to the depot, it will mean a faster return.
